I’m not talking about using frequent flyer miles, or flying on the company’s nickle. I’m curious as to what the low end of annual salary range is to justify flying first class. In other words, how much money do you have to make a year to let yourself guiltlessly pay the first class rate rather than the so much cheaper coach rate. I also am not looking for the obvious answer — I’m wondering for a normal person, at what point to you make the switch? $ 100,000 a year? $ 200,000? $ 500,000? More?

I work for a newspaper with a circulation of 15,000 in tenessee. I have recently been promoted to home delivery supervisor also known as circulation supervisor. I report directly to the circulation director. I feel that maybe I don’t make as much money as I should. Does anyone out there work for a newspaper of about the same size? How much is your salary???

That’s a tough job, I did it for a year as a District Sales Manager. I wouldn’t do it for under $ 35-$ 40k for just the down routes alone and the 2am wake-up calls to hear somebody’s excuse for not showing up…….It’s the highest turnover position in the newspaper field. Try to get into single-copy sales asap. You’ll burnout especially if the pay is low.
