This is our first time having a salary employee. How is a PTO day worked out for a salary employee? In addition we pay any unused PTO to our hourly employees at the end of the year into their bonus. How would this work for a salary employee? It should be noted that this salary employee has 1/2 of his entire familys health insurance premium paid, where as we only pay 1/2 of the individual employees health insurance on hourly workers.

At my company, PTO days are used the same for hourly employees as salaried employees. My company also pays any unused PTO at the end of the year which is the same for hourly and salaried employees.

I’m about to get a job but I still have to negotiate my salary and I’m not sure where to shoot for. It’s an area representative position in a restaurant chain with about 40 locations the job entails office work and checking in on stores operations.
